London Theatre Guide over the summer

If you’re a fan of theatre, London is the place for you. This summer, there is a variety of shows available for you with something on for everyone’s taste.

Brainiac Live! – Showing 31st July- 1st September 2019, this is a family favourite. Performing at the Garrick Theatre in the heart of the West End, this show is based on the popular TV show. It’s an extravagant live science show with explosions, live daredevil stunts, and all manner of tests you can’t try at home. These Brainiacs are going to take you on a crazy trip through the impressive madness of science- without having to get your hands dirty.

Come From Away – Showing until 14th September 2019, this is a unique, intense musical set in a Canadian town. Performing in the Phoenix Theatre, Come From Away tells a true story in the aftermath of 9/11, where a small town takes in thousands of passengers from diverted flights after the tragedy. It’s an emotional yet beautifully written play, sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Disney’s The Lion King – A family classic showing until 29th September 2019 in the Lyceum Theatre, this is the perfect show for all ages. With stunning staging and incredibly designed masks and costumes, this is a performance you won’t forget. A story we’re all familiar with, join Simba on his journey to becoming the King of Pride Rock.

Wicked – Showing until 23rd May 2020 in the Apollo Victoria Theatre, this musical is based on the classic novel by Gregory Maguire. Telling the magical story of an unlikely friendship between two girls that met as sorcery students, Wicked reveals the secrets of Oz that we were never told when Dorothy visited; of how Glenda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West became who they are. This is an award-winning musical, and one of the most popular and well-known musicals shown in the West End.

Fiddler On The Roof – Showing until 28th September 2019 in the Playhouse Theatre, this classic Broadway musical is sure to be a fantastic trip. Set in Russia at the turn of the 1905 Revolution, this is a story of love, family and wealth, perfect for all ages.

The Phantom Of The Opera – There’s very little that can be said about this multi-award winning musical. After over 12,000 performances, showing until 4th April 2020 in Her Majesty’s Theatre, this is the ideal time if you haven’t seen The Phantom of the Opera before. If you have- the perfect opportunity to relive this incredible show.

Les Miserables- Celebrating its 30th anniversary in London, Les Miserables is showing until 4th April 2020 in the Queen’s Theatre. This is an international award-winning musical, taking you on an incredible journey with Jean Valjean facing passion and destruction in France whilst fighting the revolution. One of the West End’s most powerful and popular musicals, don’t miss your chance to see this show.
