“We’re all about fun, but even more about safety,” said a spokesperson for Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster.

“To ride, someone needs to be at least three-years-old, 38” tall and be accompanied by someone at least 16 years-old who is 56” or taller. Our maintenance staff make sure the coaster is secure and ready at all times. Our motto is safety first!”

Unlike more typical roller coasters, YOU are in the driver’s seat. No one else controls the speed, the power, You can go as fast as 35 MPH or slowly enough to enjoy the mountain scenery. You can even come to a complete stop so you can take a selfie by a meadow or trail.

The nearby town, Pigeon Forge, is considered to be a major tourist attraction. The home of Dollywood, the theme park owned by country singer icon, Dolly Parton, Pigeon Forge has a lively nightlife, including dinner theater and country music at the Smoky Mountain Opry.

Take the kids to the Gatlinburg Arcadia they will love the over-100 games and prizes. Go see the Hollywood Star Cars Museum to find cars from famous Hollywood movies over the past fifty years! They have the 1966 Batmobile, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, The Munsters Dragula and many more. There are also plenty of golfing places, as well as the Mirror Maze with its amazing lights and sounds.

Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is a wonderful way to spend quality family time with natures’ mountain thrills. Many of the staff are also gardeners, and they keep the forest sitting pretty and beautiful. Everyone loves the wildflowers in the meadow. Most people do like to slow the brakes and take in the scenery.
